SMAC was started in 2001, after the 70 Mile school was closed. Using the old school building, it facilitates the 'reuse' component of the 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' mantra for keeping our planet healthy. Our free library has around 18,000 donated books, just waiting for you to enjoy them.
SMAC is entirely run by volunteers, with an estimated 3000 regular volunteer hours per year.

SMAC's biggest venture so far, is our amazing thrift shop. Housed in a retired school building, it boasts a huge variety of household items, tools, clothing, toys, books, and miscellany. Everything is well priced and ready to find new purpose. Shopping at SMAC is a great way to both outfit yourself, and keep as much as possible out of the landfill.
Be part of something amazing, as a volunteer. SMAC runs on community volunteers, and as an added bonus, volunteering is a great way to meet new people and make some friends.
C'mon over. We'd love to meet you!
